It was DRY!

More than that – it was actually sunny.

Miracles do happen.

As you can tell from these photos, the children had a wonderful time.

Every June Wilberfoss Primary School holds a special creative arts week. Every class does something special, there’s glue, paper, pens, paper, and much more flying around, the school becomes even more of a hive of creativity than usual.

Here’s a little of what’s been going on… Foundation Stage looked at Jean Miro

The brief – create a pretty picture, lots of colours, maybe draw some beautiful summer flowers as well!

For some of these foundation stage pupils this was their first time in the ICT suite; we like to introduce them early in their school days to the rest of the school. So we think they did really, really well

Would you like your child to stay on in Foundation Stage from 11:50 – 12:50?

Would you like your child to have the chance to eat their lunch (packed lunch or one of our great school dinners) in the Foundation Stage, sharing the dinner time experience with the rest of the school?

Then we think the FOUNDATION STAGE LUNCH CLUB is the thing for you.

11:50 – 12:50 Monday to Friday, with all children supervised by a qualified Nursery Nurse in the Foundation Stage F2 classroom.

Costs just £3.50 per child per day.

Packed Lunches – no extra cost but children must bring their own.

School Dinners – extra £1.85 per day for a hot meal, and the extra “grown-up” experience of going to get it for themselves in the dinner hall!

The food is great, the experience is wonderful, it really gives them the chance to socialise and feel like very grown-up children. They even sometimes have some specially chosen Year 6 helpers to come in and share the experience with them.

Please get in touch with the school if you think your child would be interested.

Every year, to get our Foundation pupils used to coming up to the ICT suite for their Monday ICT session, we use a simple paint program and let them draw. This allows us to very quickly and easily see how well they get on with holding a mouse, clicking, dragging, and a few other skills.

Foundation 2 pupils however need something a little more challenging but still something we can use to see how they’re doing. Colouring in on the computer is perfect for this. It challenges them to control the mouse properly, using click, drag, colour selection, paint brush size selection and more.

And we thought you might like to see some of the great results….
