Newcastle 2-2 Wolverhampton

Starting with our man of the match, Pappiss Demba Cisse. He played well throughout the game and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

In the first half we dominated the game but in the second half we dropped off and let Wolves run circles around us. It was definitely one of our worst performances of the season but a great performance from Wolves with their new manager Terry Connor.

(Well done to Terry)

We were 2-0 up at half time but it could have easily been more and during the second half we conceded two unlucky goals to bring our once superb performance to a crashing and shocking draw at the end of the match.

We could have won the match and picked up 3 points if we hadn’t fallen asleep in the second half and Danny Simpson hadn’t deflected that extremely fluky goal!

Our next match is at home against our local rivals Sunderland (The Mackems)

Newcastle United 2-1 Aston Villa

Monday 6th February:

Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham

The Transfers:

Most teams have signed at least one player apart from Liverpool and Stoke City.

Probably the biggest news going around is Cisse to QPR, who managed to score and get sent off on his home debut.

The biggest spenders are Chelsea, probably because they are the 3rd richest club in the premier league spending just over £14.5 million this January.

QPR have signed the most players, including loans they have signed 6 players including Taiwo from AC Milan, one of the biggest clubs in football history.

These are the teams that ended the match:

It was a very exciting match with a great debut for Papiss Demba Cisse. He played well all through the match and scored a goal worthy of goal of the season. That is why he has earned our man of the match.

(Papiss Demba Cisse)

Demba Ba scored a super volley while still lying on the floor! Demba Ba is third in the golden boot race. Newcastle are performing well this season we feel they will almost definatley qualify for the Europa League and if we push and have a bit of luck we might make the Champion’s League.

(what we are wishing for)

If we get into Champion’s League we will be able to buy bigger players as we will have more international interest. We have more chance of winning the Europa League but we can always dream.

Wilberfoss 3 – Stamford Bridge 1 (4th November 2010)

wr

On Thursday 4th November 2010, straight after school, the school football team had a match against Stamford Bridge. The score was 3-1 to Wilberfoss.

In the first half we played very well but were unlucky not to score. One thing to mention was Jack’s outstanding performance in goal, making some excellent saves to keep us in the game.

We were very unlucky when Ollie came very close with a header that the keeper just saved. In the build up there was a great move down the right with some good one-twos.

The second half saw us chase the ball well but, against the run of play Stamford Bridge took the lead after Jack did the splits! He was very unlucky as he was centimetres away from stopping it from going over the line.

We then hit back with three goals from Ollie, Dan and Nathan.

Mr Nevill said he was really pleased with our performance and determination to not give up.

A great team effort! Well done everyone!

Jack – a man of the match performance in goal, as we said earlier great saves.
Jamie - a good game in defence, kept every one in line making sure they were marking their man.
Owen – some good tackles, headers and clearances in defence.
Matthew  – he got stuck into tackles and put his foot where it hurts and also never gave up.
Harry – Harry did some good runs up the wing, used the width of the pitch well and supplied a good cross to Dan for his goal. It was good thinking when Harry suggested a short corner to Sam.
Nick – Played really well, did some good tackles and dribbles up the line and played a brilliant pass from one half to the other which Ollie just missed the target.
Matthew - Created some good passes and runs up the wing, chased the ball back well and used the space when he could.
Joel - Played well in the time he had on the field. When he came on he played a great pass forward.
James – Had a good game on the wing with good touches and little one-twos. He also did a great cross to set my header up that just missed.
Ollie – Had a great game on the left wing when he came on for Harry who got injured. He also scored and thoroughly deserved it.
Sam – Played a great game in the middle of midfield creating some good passes. He also had some good chances; unfortunately none of them hit the back of the net.
Dan - As captain, he lead from the front well, committed himself to every ball he could. Great determination to win the ball. Another player who deserved his goal.
Nathan – Played very well, providing some good through balls. He was unlucky to miss his chances but then took one of his chances and grabbed himself a goal.

By Ollie and Sam.
