Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
By Roald Dahl
Review by Katy
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is about a poor, little boy called Charlie who ends up going to a famous chocolate factory with his old (and thin) Grandpa. Charlie’s family was very, very, very, very poor, and couldn’t afford a lot. Charlie was lucky to get just a chocolate bar for his birthday
One cold, snowy day Willy Wonka (the man who owns the Wonka chocolate factory) announced that 5 golden tickets had been hidden in 5 yummy Wonka chocolate bars, and lucky Charlie found one!
My favourite bit of the book was when Charlie opened a “Scrumdiddlyumptious” chocolate bar! Roald Dahl was very good at making up new words, and new types of sweets -for example; “Snozzberries” and “Luminous Lollies”.
Also in the book there are quite a few songs which I enjoyed. I liked all of this book! Quentin Blake is a very good illustrator and I really, really love the book!

Lovely review Katy. I loved C&TCF when I was younger. Hold on…. I STILL love C&TCF!
Thanks for writing about it.

What a great review Katy. If I hadn’t already read it I would snap it up off the shelf.

It’s a great story so I’m glad you loved it too Katy! Does it make you want to read any other Roald Dahl books?
