Measuring

In Ash class this week we have been measuring using metre sticks, measuring worms (but not real ones) and we have measured how long the train in our playground is.

We have been learning how to measure with a ruler and a metre stick and some measuring worms.  The longest worm was 19cm long. The shortest worm was 3cm long.

Number bonds to 10

Last week in Holly Class we were learning all about number bonds to 10. We tried to think of things that might help us remember these special pairs of numbers including singing songs, using ten frames and even sewing.

Take a look below and see how busy we were and how hard our brains had to work!

Some of us used ladybirds and counters to find the pairs of numbers that made 10.

Some of us found different ways to split our ten cubes between two pots and then we recorded our findings on whiteboards.

We then used our pictures to help us write a number sentence.

Harry was able to work out all the addition pairs to 10 and find the corresponding subtractions too!
