English SEN RS IDYLLWILD, CA—September 14, 2009: www.ReadSpeeder.com is a free speed reader, using a new patent pending method that can convert text into its natural phrases, without requiring linguistic analysis. These phrases are displayed in sequence to instantly speed your reading.

Reading has always been done in a box of text on a page, and just as the first automobiles were designed to resemble horse-drawn carriages, e-readers are designed to replicate books. But ReadSpeeder takes advantage of the new medium to improve on the reading experience. Comprehension is improved when meaningful phrases are presented individually, because each phrase can be understood at a glance, the same way words are read. This improvement in comprehension makes reading faster, and keeps the reader’s attention from wandering.

Reading by phrases might sound annoying at first, and granted it’s not for all types of reading, but it’s great when you want to read something fast, with better comprehension. The quality and meaningfulness of the phrases ReadSpeeder extracts is the key to making reading easier. And there’s no eye movement, backtracking, or losing your place. Your eyes focus on a single location as you read, and thoughts appear to be pulled from the text, directly into your mind.

ReadSpeeder is also available for handheld devices such the iPhone and iPod Touch too:

ICT SEN iCT@C sketchup-logo sketchupLogo_sm Another application for using Google Sketchup. Originally thinking about how Sketchup could be used by students to create 3D Mind-Maps. Which in itself is an interesting thought, and would work very well. As images and text can be added to Sketchup work, a 3D Mind-Map is very realistic idea. However, the idea quickly evolved into one that could allow teachers to make 3D Learning Maps or Journey’s for students to follow within the 3D environment that Sketchup allows.

The short video below illustrates this idea:
