Naace have emailed all registered users of the Self-review Framework (SRF) to inform them of important changes. You may miss the email if your account is registered at your old Kirklees email address, or if the person who set up the account has left the school. Here are the main points:
From 1 April 2012, the Department for Education will be handing responsibility for the SRF to Naace (the ICT Association). Naace will assume a leadership role in continuing to manage and shape the SRF, so that it remains relevant and useful to schools. All matters relating to its management and governance will be led by Naace, who will want to build on the good work of Becta in developing this valued resource.
Naace currently provides help desk support to users of the existing SRF online tool, and they also manage the ICT Mark Accreditation service. This means that they understand the importance to schools of this service, and will work to ensure that the SRF continues to reflect your needs.
Specifically, from April 2012 Naace will:
- Consult with schools and other interested parties about how to develop and improve the Self-review Framework to best meet the needs of schools;
- Provide an online tool that allows schools to record and review how they currently use technology, and plan for improvement;
- Provide help desk support to users who require assistance in accessing and using the online tool;
- Continue to provide an accreditation service to those schools who wish to apply for ICT Mark status.
Consent will be required to transfer your account and the associated data to Naace, they will contact you again in the near future to obtain this. If you do not wish to transfer your account, all the associated data will be securely destroyed soon after the 1 April 2012.
