Y2 – Palm

Happy Eid to everyone who has just celebrated Eid!

We had a wonderful day on Tuesday when we pretended to fly to Pakistan on Hovingham Airways! We saw some pictures of  how beautiful Pakistan is. We learned how to do some Bollywood dancing and wrote postcards back to school! In the afternoon we celebrated with games and an Eid party tea.

We have watched the wonderful film, Wall.e and have started to build our  own robots.

Mathletics! What stars you have been! Today I am so impressed – we had 9 Bronze certificates this week, but a very hard working Superstar has earned her bronze certificate at home today! Amazing results. Next week we will start our Thursday Year 2 Mathletics club. Well done, everyone!    

Hello! Iam writing because I just wanted to say hello to you and all members in Year 2 . Year 2 was the best year so far  and now I am hoping that year 3 is just as good . The great news for year 2 is that you have got so much fun to look forward to with Miss Teacher and all the other teachers.  That’s all for now, I’ll be blogging again , Good bye

What a busy, but wonderful week we have had in Year 2. Everyone has been thinking about the differences they can make to help them learn even more now they are in Year 2, and to help make Hovingham an even more special place.

In Literacy we have really enjoyed reading some of the ‘Golden Rules’ stories and finding out about what Zelda Zebra, Gino Giraffe, Mona Monkey, Louis Lion, Alfred Alligator and Elsa Elephant have been up to! We have realised that they would do much better at their school, and make Mrs Beanie happy, if they were like us and followed their school rules!

We had a visit from Steve, who works for Mathletics. We had a fabulous time in the computer room and all learned how to play Mathletics. I have put a link at the side of this page to Mathletics, so you can click straight to it and start to have fun! Everyone in Year 2 has taken their special passwords and usernames home so that they can play at home too!

Don’t worry Mr Kind, and the rest of Year 3, and KS2, I am going to get passwords for you all too and I will either come and do a lesson with you, or I will show your teachers how the site works! We can all play Mathletics and it will help Hovingham really AIM HIGH in Numeracy! We might even set up some Mathletics clubs!

Are play ground is big and we play with Mr ali footbal every day but not on a friday because he be’ s busy that ‘ s way we do not play and have fun in year three and in year 2.
