I hope you are all having a happy weekend! I have been busy getting ready for our exciting week ahead!

I have been making a timeline which I will print out and laminate, so that we can see some of the events that have happened over the last 111 years and how the world has changed. When we bring in our photographs of our families we will be able to put some of our family dates onto the timeline. I will show you when I was born, and when my Mum and Dad were born!

On Tuesday we have a visit from the man who has written all the Musrderous Maths books – I am really looking forward to his show, and on Thursday, Mrs Jones is flying off to celebrate the Chinese New Year in class with you! I hope I will get to join you in China for the afternoon because I need to practise eating with chopsticks and I love making chinese lanterns and dragons!

What a fabulous week we have had! We looked at an inspirational quote from the Quran.

Together we then thought about all the things that inspire us in our classroom and we changed the poem so that it was based on the things we could see in 2R. We used a writing frame to plan our poem, and then wrote it out, illustrating it with photos of the classroom.

We then copied the text and put it into Wordle! The poems made  amazing wordles too – and soon Miss teacher will put up some photographs of our wordles.

Did  you    know   a   pip    is   a seed    that    comes    from   inside  an  appel?  A   strawberry   seed    is on the out side.   They  take  a   long   time    to    grow.

George and Georgina were twins they looked exactly the same.

Even their mum and dad couldn,t always spot the difference. (Can you?)

One day, Georgina” When I grow up I want to ride out into the countryside and have lots of adventures.”

anneena came round to play lets go out said biff lets  go down to the play ground,.They got to the play ground but they found it was locked up. The round abut was broken.The playhouse was broken.the swings had tape round them. They saw a man from the council. it was not safe said the man so now it has been shut down.Will they fix it asked Mum.no said the man. it would cost ten thousand pounds. They met wilf and wilma. it bad news said biff.  the play ground has been shut down.but we need it Ii will  cost thousands to fix it said annena. Could we get the money?how about it? we need ten thosand pounds…how much? to get a new play ground…  pass it round… ouch that a lot.

We did our going for goals book which involved number bonds, making words out of hovingham primary school and times tables.

We have learnt about electricity. We know why, how, and when it is used.

We did addition and subtraction in our Maths books.

We had fun at play time.

Mr Mc Curdy was very funny.
